Our Climate
Just over 2 years ago, the IPCC released a pivotal scientific report showing the scale and speed of action we humans need to make, if we are to address climate change.
The world’s leading climate scientists are clear, we have less than 10 years to make the substantial changes needed to keep global warming under 1.5ºC. The world has already shot past 1ºC above pre-industrial temperatures.
Many of the solutions are out there, we must just act. And act fast. Every month we delay, the planet warms a little more.
In November 2021, the UK will host the world’s biggest climate conference, COP26, in Glasgow. This is a huge opportunity to really celebrate and get people talking about all the issues and science around climate change, and to achieve so much more by working together.
This website has been created by The UK Association for Science and Discovery Centres (ASDC), with funding from The Scottish Government, to bring together and share the huge range of climate activities, resources, events and carbon-cutting programmes from public engagement organisations and other professionals across the UK. Our goal is to inspire more people and organisations to shine a light on climate change, and to empower people to make more substantial carbon reductions in their organisations and their lives.
